Fansmanship Podcast – Bill Halter

By
Updated: October 3, 2012

Bill Halter ducked into the Fansmanship.com studio — literally — to join me on the podcast today. Along with being Sports Anchor at KSBY, Halter is the local television play-by-play voice of Cal Poly football and basketball. This year, he also is hosting a high school preview show on Thursday nights at 6:00 on ESPN Radio 1280.

Bill, who came to KSBY from North Dakota, has been in San Luis Obispo for over 3 years. Recently he traveled with the Cal Poly football team to North Dakota for the Mustangs’ first Big Sky Conference road game, a victory for Cal Poly.

Halter played college basketball at University of Wisconsin-River Falls and I asked him if he is still throwing down, among other things.

I talked with Bill about his northern Midwest roots, Cal Poly football, and the local sports scene.

I forgot to take an in-studio picture of Bill Halter, so here is a mugshot from his college basketball playing days I found on the Internet. Thanks UW-River Falls Website!

Thanks Expand. I appreciate the kind words. Within an hour of ending any interview, I always think of like 5 additional questions I should have asked a guest… Hopefully we can have Bill on again sometime. He really seems like a good guy.
