Coors Field. 5,280 feet. A sight for sore Dodger eyes — and cold blue bats.

Dodger bats have gone from cold to Super Cold. Below freezing. Like the beer the stadium is named after.

After a ridiculously hot start, the second half of May cooled things off quite a bit. Starting May 16th, the team has scored 31 runs in 14 games. That’s 2.2 runs per game. That’s not good.

Not surprisingly, the Dodgers are a crummy 6-8 during that time. On second thought, the fact that they’ve been that close to .500 is amazing.

Maybe Colorado will be a jumping off point for the Dodgers’ offense to start this new month of June off right with the bats. Whether because of the Rockies’ 22-26 record or because of the deserved reputation of Coors Field, I think it’s a safe bet for those bats to warm up.

Maybe the Dodgers will want to go other directions if they can’t warm up their bats in Colorado.
