Which Opening-Night Loss Was Most Damning? http://www.fansmanship.com/nba-kickoff-which-opening-night-loss-was-most-damning/ For the fans by the fans Wed, 15 Mar 2017 09:08:36 +0000 hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=4.7.28 By: Shane Miranda http://www.fansmanship.com/nba-kickoff-which-opening-night-loss-was-most-damning/#comment-12028 Thu, 01 Nov 2012 01:23:33 +0000 http://www.fansmanship.com/?p=6981#comment-12028 I think it is Boston. They more closely resemble the team they will be in 6 months. The only absence is Avery Bradley. The defensive combo of Bradley and Courtney Lee will cause Wade problems in the playoffs. The Wizards added a number of pieces. There is no way to judge them until later in the season. Same for the Lakers. The only “Super” team to figure it out were the Celtics the first year with Pierce, KG, and Jesus Shuttlesworth. It took the Heat a year to figure it out, it may take the Lakers longer. Nash was a non-factor, and I believe he is the one that will play the biggest role in their success or failure.

Tack on healthy Dirk come January with a do-it-all Shawn Marion, and you got the making for an unexpectedly relevent playoff team. The Lake Show will be fine — “fine” meaning playoff bound. But I suspect expectations are higher than 55-wins, and the only thing that would make this team anything but a “flop” would be a ring. Anything less? Bust. Will be interesting.
